Palat Malabar Chicken Curry is a popular South Indian dish known for its rich and aromatic flavors.. Malabar chicken curry originates from the malabar region of Kerala, a cuisine deeply influenced by centuries of trade and cultural exchange with Arab, Portuguese, and Dutch traders. This regional specialty incorporates indigenous ingredients like coconut oil, curry leaves, and local spices, creating a rich and aromatic dish that has been passed down through families and continues to be a cherished meal in  Malabar homes.  

How to Prepare:

1. Clean and cut 1 kg of chicken into pieces.

2. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and sauté 3 sliced onions until lightly brown.

3. Add 1 tbsp chopped ginger, 10 chopped garlic pods, 4 chopped green chilies, and a few curry leaves. Sauté well.

4. Stir in 4 tbsp Palat Malabar Chicken Masala on low flame until aromatic.

5. Add 2 chopped tomatoes, cook for 3–4 minutes.

6. Add the chicken pieces and mix until fully coated with the masala.

7. Pour enough hot water, add salt to taste, and cover to cook until the chicken is done.

8. For extra richness, stir in ½ cup thick coconut milk.

9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with Palat Appam or Puttu.
